If you are a SpongeBob fan, you would know that this embroidery is a reference to “Bold and Brash” one of Squidward’s paintings shown in the episode “Artists Unknown”.

Back in 2019 I was in my second year of playing clarinet for the Black Bear Marching Band in university. The clarinet section held a secret Santa and this embroidery was the gift that I made. I chose to do a SpongeBob reference because Squidward plays clarinet!

The gift was a learning experience since it was my first time doing embroidery. I printed out the image of the original artwork and cut out the Squidward so that I could trace it onto the fabric with pen. I added the floral design in the background to portray the background colors in the artwork.
